The idea

The water changes the weekend.

You swim off your own dock, take the kayaks out, cook properly, argue about records, and stay outside until the fire burns down. It is the weekend you like, with the volume of the lake behind it — and a house that was clearly put together by people, not a rental company.

Woven loungers lined up under a market umbrella on the lakefront deck, water on both sides.
Two kayaks pulled up on the private shoreline beside the deck, open lake stretching to the far bank.

The lake

On the lake

A private multi-tier lakefront deck with loungers and a café table, your own shoreline and swim dock, two kayaks, three paddleboards and a two-person tube.

Inside

A house with a point of view.

Original Victorian rooms, collected vintage furniture, art hung salon-style and books everywhere. A reading room for the quiet hours, a parlor for vinyl and cocktails, a kitchen that can actually cook dinner for eight.

The green parlor with a crystal chandelier, antique floral settee, patterned rug and tall windows.
The literary salon: a white mantel lined with books and plants beside a Victorian settee.
The butcher-block kitchen island set for dinner for four under a branching brass chandelier.
The original staircase, painted slate blue, rising past a salon-style wall of framed art.

Outside

Outside is always in season.

A hot tub that runs all year, two fire pits, a Traeger smoker, café tables on the deck and enough seating that nobody goes inside early. The lake is still there in the morning.

The deck with the lake in the front is AMAZING! We enjoyed very much and leveraged the lake — stand-up paddle, float platform, swimming, fire pit in the deck, games, sun bathing — every minute! The house is very private and peaceful.

We spent the days swimming in the lake and soaking in the hot tub and had everything we could need. The lake is beautiful and serene and the house is cute and tidy. Very lovely weekend, would love to go back.

It was like staying in a life size Victorian doll house, but with all the upgrades! The lake decks and kayaking and paddle boards were relaxing and fun. We used the hot tub every night, the kitchen was great!

The house was great, just like the pictures. The fire pit and hot tub were a great way to end the night. The lake deck with lounge chairs is nice and private. Would love to come back another summer!
